Kunyit

It is easy how to keep your "Kunyit" fresh or how to let it germinate. Just put it inside a plastic bag and put some water.
Make sure you put some air inside. Place it over the window near your kitchen. After a few days new shoot will come out. Wait till roots develope. After two weeks you can see a new roots coming out of the rhyzome.
Place it in a pot. A good planting medium for "Kunyit" is the ashes from your garbage mix with garden soil. The more ashes the better for the plant. If you have problem in looking for the ashes you go and find good soil from the jungle or rubber plantation. Those soil is rich in organic. This plants need alot of organic. I make my own organic soil by gathering the leaves and let it rot by it self.

Bougainvilla

Malaysia is a fortunate country, lies in the equatoraial region having hot, sunny and rain all year round. This is what a bougainvillas need. Just make sure it is planted in the open. All you need is to water once in two days if there is no rain. With applying fertilizer if possible twice a month or atleast once a month that will be just fine. I don't know why not much bougainvillas being planted in Malaysia especially Kuala Lumpur and Putra Jaya. It is cheap getting the plants and cheap to maintain in the long run. Bougainvillas can last a very long time and in some places it can even last 20 years. The older the plant the more flowers it will have. There are so many species of boungainvillas in available in the market in Malaysia especially in Kuala Lumpur. I have been planting boungainvillas since 1984 till today.
